Nearly half of head impacts occur to the facemask and the NFL reports those impacts account for 44% of concussions. Not surprising when players are taught to tackle “head up” to avoid neck injuries. While on average helmets are improving, digging past the headlines reveals facemask impacts traditionally underperform.

FLEX SoftShox Chinstrap
The first force reducing chinstrap, reducing the NFL’s Head Acceleration Response Metric (HARM) by up to 35% (paper). Designed by our engineers and equipped with SoftShox hydraulic pads you can see working through “the window”, this chinstrap is comfortable and integrates with every major football helmet model.
How It Works
Facemask impacts push the helmet backward, pulling on the chinstrap and chin, accelerating the head backward.
The chinstrap positions a SoftShox hydraulic pad at the base of the chin to disperse energy, reducing HARM at common impact speeds of 3.0 and 7.4 m/s.
